You may remember us mentioning that we’d be beginning a fun new monthly series during our previous Local Roundup with Karen.  For this month’s installment of #clickloveslocal, we asked stylist Beth Doyle to weigh in on some of her personal Birmingham favorites.  She definitely didn’t let us down and we are sharing her choices with you today.  Let’s get started!

FAVORITE PLACE TO GRAB A COFFEE:
I have to admit I’ve become quite the coffee snob. Revelator is my favorite. The almond milk latte is the way to go, 10 oz of course. Beyond the wonderful coffee, I could seriously live in that space. It is on my list of happy places.

FAVORITE SPOT TO PICNIC OR HANG OUTDOORS:
When I need a break and want to get some fresh air, I head to Railroad Park. I love to take a blanket and just lay out on the lawn. It’s a great way to unwind right in the middle of the city and my pups like to run around on the green.

FAVORITE LOCAL SPOT TO SHOP:
This is a tough one. I have 2 favs. Ben at Mia Moda is the best and always has his eye out for pieces he thinks I might like. They have Bedstu shoes, which I love. THE BEST BOOTS EVA!  My other fav is SOCA Clothing. I never go there without finding something I have to have. Jewelry, shirts, dresses, and of course, denim…they never disappoint.

FAVORITE PLACE TO SEE A CONCERT OR SHOW:
I love going to shows at The Alabama Theater. Wow, what a beautiful place with a rich history. You kinda feel like you’ve been taken back in time when you are there. It’s so much fun to see the movies they show at Christmas-I’ve made it a holiday tradition.

BEST HAPPY HOUR SPOT:
One of my favorite happy hour spots is Satellite though I don’t go for the libations.  I get an afternoon mocha. (I guess its becoming obvious that I have a slight caffeine addiction.) They have a super cool patio and you can watch the hustle and bustle that’s happening in Avondale.

I couldn’t just pick one, so I had to also include Bamboo on 2nd. Bamboo not only has the best sushi in town but also offers a variety of other Asian cuisines. I love the Wham Bam Birmingham and the brightness of the octopus salad. Beyond the tasty noshes, Bernie and Sam always make sure the guests have an exceptional experience.

So there you have it.

A few new places to check out this weekend or to add to your B-ham Bucket List.  Thanks so much to Beth for sharing these amazing recommendations with us this week… The Collective @Click Loves Local!!
