Out with the old and in with the NEW YEAR.  (and new hair!!)

We hope that your year has gotten off to an excellent start.  Over here at the salon, we have a lot of exciting things brewing, and we cannot wait to reveal them to you…

Before we do that though, we wanted to begin 2016 with a round up of some of our favorite up-and- coming hair trends.

In 2015 “The Lob” or Long Bob, took the first place ribbon for most popular women’s cut.  We saw grey become a hair color people requested rather than something they asked us to cover up, and the guys started to really embrace the “Fade” in a huge way.

So what’s in store for us this year?  Here are some of our best guesses…

Shorter than the Lob, and wavy… it’s a wavy bob = Wob.  We think this textured, shorter style is going to be very popular this year. Super short, cheekbone grazing, “It Girl” styles and classic Coco Chanel inspired haircuts will be a major trend.

Natural, straight, shaggy- it really doesn’t matter, the bang is coming back this year in a very modern and edgy way.

It’s not quite brown and it’s not quite blonde… this more natural color trend is definitely giving ombre a run for it’s money.

And of course, we couldn’t leave out our fellas.  Here are a couple of trends we foresee being big this year for men’s hair.

Short on the sides with hair left longer on top, worn natural with texture or slicked back, this one simply requires a little bit of product to keep things in place.

Based on a more classic, old school mens hair cut, this look is achieved by shaving the part to define it even more.

So, these are some of our predictions for what we think we’ll be seeing a lot more of over the coming months of 2016.  What do you think?  Did we miss anything?
